Bellurgan Utd turned around a 2-0 half time deficit to claim a share of the points with Glenmuir Utd in the under 11 premier league tie in Glenmuir Park Glenmuir Utd on Monday night. The home side were looking good for all three points with their two goal advantageat the break  but Bellurgan scored two goals in the first eleven minutes of the second half and although both teams had their chances to win, a draw was probably a fair result in an entertaining match. Bellurgan’s Jamie Mulligan had two early chances well saved by Glenmuir ‘keeper Kian Rooney but it was the hosts who took the lead on 14 minutes  when Luke Murray sent in a nicely flighted ball from the left hand side for Glen Teather  to force home.

The home side were 2-0 ahead five minutes later, Bellurgan were on the attack and gave away possession and Glenmuir quickly punished them, Luke Murray set up Keith Newell to  stroke the ball past Caolin Larkin in the Bellurgan goals. Glenmuir ‘keeper Kian Rooney produced a brilliant save on the stroke of half time when he pushed Glen Stewart’s shot around the post to ensure his team went in at the break 2-0 ahead.

Bellurgan scored their first goal in the first minute of the second half, Luke Higgins showed good composure and control to fire a left footed shot to the corner of the Glenmuir net. Jamie Browne’s free kick was not far off the target for Glenmuir in the 9th minute but the sides were level on eleven minutes when Glen Stewart scored from close range. Conor Watters looked certain to score the winner for Bellurgan but Kian Rooney produced another tremendous save to deny the Bellurgan striker while at the other end Jamie Brown went close for Glenmuir.
